Breakthroughs to Agriculture
After this reading, I believe that agriculture was a huge leap forward for humans. The Neolithic Era allowed the population to grow by providing more food then only relying on gathering and hunting. I had not realized that the ending of the Ice Age played a big part in that. Agricultural allowed them to create more permanent homes. I also had not realized the role that animals played in the evolution of agriculture. When humans learned to domesticate animals they were provided protein. The invention of tools allowed them to start planting so many crops like corn, wheat, and figs. They probably for the first time felt a huge amount of pressure to keep their larger societies alive because there were so many of them now.
